R&D 투자 강도, R&D 인력 비중, R&D 외부 협력 범위가 혁신 성과에 미치는 영향과 기업 업력에 따른 차이 분석

초록

This study empirically analyzed the moderating effect of firm age on the relationship between R&D investment intensity, R&D personnel ratio, and R&D external collaboration scope on financial and non-financial innovation performance of innovative SMEs, using data from the 2023 Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Statistics Survey. Financial performance was measured by the proportion of sales derived from R&D, and Tobit regression analysis was employed. Non-financial performance was assessed through the possession and registration of intellectual property, analyzed using a negative binomial regression model. The findings revealed that R&D investment intensity and R&D personnel ratio had significant positive effects on financial innovation performance, with statistically significant interaction effects with firm age. While the scope of external R&D collaboration did not directly influence financial performance, its interaction with firm age showed a significant positive effect. Regarding non-financial innovation performance, R&D investment intensity had no significant direct effect, but the moderating effect of firm age was more pronounced in younger firms. The R&D personnel ratio negatively impacted non-financial performance; however, this effect was mitigated in younger firms due to their faster learning and absorptive capacity. The scope of R&D external collaboration positively influenced non-financial performance, and an inverted U-shaped relationship between collaboration scope and non-financial performance was identified.
