역사·문화적 도시재생 측면에서의 경주 황리단길 발전 방안 탐구 -가나자와 히가시차야가이 지구와의 비교분석을 중심으로 -

초록

This study aims to comparatively analyze the historical and cultural urban regeneration strategies of Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa, Japan, and Hwangridan-gil in Gyeongju, Korea, to identify strategic approaches for developing Hwangridan-gil into a sustainable historical-cultural urban regeneration model. Employing the cultural strategy frameworks of F. Bianchini, R. Griffiths, and G. Evans, as well as previous literature, the study assesses economic revitalization, resident participation, spatial enhancement, connectivity and integration, and sustainability. Findings reveal that Higashi Chaya District effectively established city branding and promoted creative industries through integrating traditional crafts and contemporary arts. In contrast, Hwangridan-gil encountered issues such as commercialization-induced gentrification and insufficient creative industry foundations. Thus, this study proposes short-, medium-, and long-term strategies for developing creative industries, enhancing community engagement, strengthening historical-cultural identity, and improving policy integration to transform Hwangridan-gil from merely a trendy spot into a sustainable regeneration case. Future research should incorporate empirical analyses using quantitative data from diverse cases, focusing on developing comprehensive policy models that effectively integrate historical-cultural resources with contemporary urban landscapes.
