대학생의 우유부단 및 진로 결정성 군집유형에 따른 진로불안, 진로정체감, 진로의사결정 방식의 차이

초록

The study aimed to identify types of indecisiveness and career decidedness among college students through cluster analysis, and to examine whether there were significant differences in career anxiety, vocational identity, and career decision-making profiles. Data were collected from 400 undergraduate students attending a four-year university in the Daegu region. The analysis revealed four distinct cluster types: ‘Indecisive-Undecided’, ‘Decisive-Undecided’, ‘Decisive-Decided’, and ‘Indecisive-Decided’. The ‘Indecisive-Undecided’ type showed high anxiety and uncertainty about their careers and displayed maladaptive patterns in their decision-making process, such as depending on others and procrastinating on making decisions. In contrast, the ‘Decisive-Decided’ type emerged as the most adaptive, making quick decisions through in-depth career exploration and demonstrating high confidence in their choices. While the ‘Decisive-Undecided’ and ‘Indecisive-Decided’ types experienced career anxiety and uncertainty about their careers and showed somewhat dependent tendencies in their decision-making process, there was a clear difference in the effort invested in the decision-making process. This study contributes by establishing indecisiveness and career decidedness as independent dimensions and attempting type classification based on their levels. Furthermore, by comparing the characteristics across types, the study discusses differentiated intervention strategies for career counseling and education, regarding the maladaptive aspects of the career decision-making process.
