초록

This study aims to explore the principles of the descriptive evaluation of Korean grammar. Because the descriptive evaluation of Korean grammar require learners to construct their own responses to linguistic phenomena, it can engage learners in linguistic thinking. In addition, the descriptive evaluation of Korean grammar can provide an exploratory experience for learners to think about grammar topics in different ways, deepen their knowledge and understanding of grammar, and utilize grammar concepts to solve problems. In this study, the principles of grammar descriptive evaluation were extracted from the content of Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) as “Constructions of grammar knowledge, exploring language (grammar), and making connections and uses in daily language life”. Based on these principles, we designed a grammar descriptive evaluation framework so that learners can think and explore grammar phenomena and explain them in relation to everyday language phenomena. In addition, actual grammar descriptive evaluation questions were organized and presented based on the social phenomena. The descriptive evaluation of Korean grammar can be organized as an assessment scene in which learners observe grammatical phenomena, generate, utilize, and explore related knowledge by themselves. Through this, learners can experience intellectual curiosity and inquiry in the grammar classroom and take the initiative to participate as a member of the language inquiry community.
