궤적방정식에 의한 한국인 화자의 영어 CV에 나타난 동시조음 분석

초록

In this study, the English CV coarticulation by Korean speakers was analyzed using the slopes of locus equation by simple linear regression and linear mixed-effects model when /t, s, ʃ/ were followed by /i, u, æ, ɑ/. According to the results, for Korean speakers learning English as an L2, the LE slope was close to 1 in the same order as previous studies, /t/>/s/>/ʃ/, except when they preceded /æ/. For /æ/, the coarticulation occured in the order /s/>/t/>/ʃ/. This result indicates that the fricative /s/ is less resistant to coarticulation before /æ/ than the plosive /t/. The slope patterns of locus equations by simple linear regression analysis and linear mixed-effects model are similar. However, the linear mixed-effects model by setting consonants or vowels as random effects can show a greater variety of coarticulation sequences than simple linear regression analysis.
