‘ㄹ’ 관련 음운변동의 교육 내용에 대한 비판적 검토

초록

In this paper, I reviewed the content of grammar education on phonological alternation related to 'ㄹ', focusing primarily on the validity of the knowledge. As a result, the content of 'ㄹ'-related phonological alternation education was found to have the following problems. ㅇ Two types of liquidization with different phonological characteristics are described as a single phenomenon. ㅇ The environmental conditions for 'ㄹ'-nasalization are incorrectly presented. Furthermore, this alternation is described as a single phenomenon with the nasal assimilation of obstruents, which is fundamentally different in every aspect, including the target consonants, environment, and phonetic motivation. ㅇ Two types of ㄹ-deletion, which have different motivations for alternation, are not distinguished. ㅇ The Word-initial Rule, which is not a synchronic alternation, is treated as one of the phonological alternation. Grammatical knowledge that doesn't align with the reality of the Korean language can hinder learners' understanding of its linguistic nature and, furthermore, become a factor that impedes their development of Korean language proficiency and a positive attitude toward the language. Therefore, when structuring the content of grammar education, it's necessary to first closely examine whether the knowledge in each content item aligns with the essence and reality of the Korean language.
