국립한국문학관본 <백계양문선행록>의 대하소설로서의 특징과 의의

초록

This paper tried to investigate the characteristics and significance of National Museum of Korean Literature Collection Baekgye-yangmun-seonhaengnok as a saga novel. There have been discussions inferring that Baekgye-yangmun- seonhaengnok written by Haepyeong Yun-ssi is a saga novel through the records of Yiga-sego and Eounmun-gosi. But there were many regrets because the substance of the work was not revealed. Being a lacking version of one volume, this National Museum of Korean Literature Collection helps us solve many questions by showing the true nature of Baekgye-yangmun-seonhaengnok. National Museum of Korean Literature Collection Baekgye-yangmun- seonhaengnok shows that this work has characteristics of a saga novel, in terms of space setting, the level of revelation of imagination, and composition or descriptive aspect. First, if this work was an actual record, it would have mainly recorded events around Haepyeong Yun-ssi, the author, so it is highly likely that the spatial background will be set to Joseon, while this work is set in China, where it is easy to spread imagination, as is common in classical novels. Second, it embodies the fantastic imagination that is common in classical novels, such as the emergence of hermits or Taoist masters, a divine response related to prayer, and the confirmation of fate through astrology. Third, with Baek mun-hyeon being set as the main character, Baekgye-yangmun-seonhaengnok consists of two family stories about the Baeks and the Gyes, just like general two families story-type novels. In addition, the fact that a separate biography of the Mongyurok夢遊錄 style is arranged differently is similar to derivatives that are common in saga novels, and it has a narrative feature with active scene development. These points show that this work is well characterized as a saga novel. National Museum of Korean Literature Collection Baekgye-yangmun- seonhaengnok is of great significance in that it clearly shows the true nature of the work, which has only existed in the title name, shows an example of many stories being created in a family community, shows the aspect of two families story-type novel that is certain to be written by a female writer, and that the good deeds related to funeral service are remarkable, showing that they combine the aspects of good deed story-type novels.
