기술지주회사의 역량이 지역대학 기술사업화 성과에 미치는 영향 분석: 연합형 기술지주회사를 중심으로

In response to the accelerating issue of regional depopulation, the role of regional universities in revitalizing local economies and fostering place-based employment through technology commercialization has gained increasing attention. However, prior studies have primarily focused on independent technology holding companies, leaving joint technology holding companies underexplored. This study empirically examined the impact of joint technology holding companies on the technology commercialization performance of regional universities. A multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using data from seven joint technology holding companies and 48 affiliated four-year regional universities over the past three years. The number of employees and the investment capital of the joint technology holding companies were used as independent variables. The results indicated that the number of employees positively influenced the number of technology transfers, technology transfer revenues, the number of faculty-led start-ups, and the sales performance of faculty-led start-up companies. Investment amounts positively affected the number of technology transfers, the number of student-led start-ups, and the sales performance of faculty-led and student-led start-ups. These findings highlight the significant role of joint technology holding companies in enhancing the commercialization performance of regional universities and indicate the need for policy support to strengthen their human and financial capacities.
