원매(袁枚)의 절파(浙派) 시인에 대한 평가 고찰

초록

This paper examines Yuan Mei(袁枚)’s evaluations of poets associated with the Zhejiang School(浙派), active over approximately a century spanning the Kangxi(康熙) to Qianlong(乾隆) reigns of the Qing dynasty(清代). Focusing on early figures such as Zhu Yizun(朱彝尊), Tang Youzeng (湯右曾), and Cha Shenxing(査慎行), as well as later poets including Li E(厲鶚) and Hang Shijun(杭世駿), the study analyzes the distinctive patterns in Yuan Mei(袁枚)’s critical perspective. Yuan Mei(袁枚) consistently prioritized the intrinsic quality of poetic works over chronological classification and rejected simplistic dichotomies between Tang and Song poetry. He criticized the Song School(宗宋派) for its scholastic tendencies and excessive reliance on literary allusions, instead advocating for a poetics grounded in emotional authenticity and expressive immediacy. Yuan Mei(袁枚) highly valued early Zhejiang(浙江) poets for their integration of erudition, emotional depth, and moral character, particularly praising Cha Shenxing(査慎行) for his intuitive imagery and sincere articulation of sentiment. Among later poets, he acknowledged Li E(厲鶚)’s refined and elegant style, though he noted that Li E(厲鶚)’s overdependence on classical references could diminish poetic vitality. Hang Shijun(杭世駿) was commended for his successful synthesis of scholarship and emotional resonance. By reexamining underexplored references to the Zhejiang School(浙派) in 『Suiyuan Shihua(隨園詩話)』, this study not only broadens the scholarly understanding of this poetic lineage but also calls for further research into the historical continuity of Song-oriented poetics, later developed by figures such as He Shaoji(何紹基) and Chen Yan(陳衍).
