포토보이스를 통한 영유아교사의 돌봄과 교육에 대한 인식 변화 탐구

초록

The purpose of this study is to understand early childhood teachers’ perceptions and practices regarding early childhood care and education, conducting a photovoice study. A total of ten teachers, two from each type of institution (public, private, and home-based daycare centers) and kindergartens (public and private), were recruited. There were 3 photovoice and focus group interviews. Post-survey interviews were conducted to explore changes in perceptions resulting from the photovoice. Through the photovoice analysis, participants recognized that it was difficult to clearly define and separate care and education. They defined care and education as complementary, and agreed that they should be provided in a harmonious and balanced manner, reflecting the growth, development, needs, and desires of young children. Furthermore, participants recognized discrepancies between their perceptions and practices regarding care and education, and experienced changes in their perceptions based on the thoughts and opinions of other participants. This study is significant in that it has enabled teachers to shift their perceptions and explore new standards and implications by revealing and sharing their experiences, inner thoughts, and opinions on care and education.
