쇼펜하우어 철학에서 증명의 한계와 언어적 소통의 한계

초록

This study has 2 purposes. First, to understand proof as a form of communication in Schopenhauer’s philosophy and to explore its limitations. Second, to distinguish between the limits of proof and of linguistic communication by showing that poetry and philosophy in Schopenhauer’s philosophy are linguistic communications that can overcome the limits of proof. The discussion proceeds in the following order. Chapter 1 presents the definitions of proof and linguistic communication and classifies proof as a sub-concept of linguistic communication. Chapters 2 through 5 systematically list the limitations of proof. Chapters 2 and 3, respectively, discuss that proof is often insufficient in 2 different ways. Chapter 4 shows that proof is always incomplete. Chapter 5 shows that proof cannot convey a specific feeling or Platonic Idea. Chapter 6 distinguishes the limits of proof from the limits of linguistic communication by classifying poetry and philosophy as sub-concepts of linguistic communication showing that poetry and philosophy can convey something that cannot be conveyed through proof.
