Analysis of Participants’ Household Food Security after the Saemaul Pilot Village Program in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia

초록

This study focuses on analyzing household food security among the Saemaul Pilot Village Program participants after the Program concluded, particularly in agricultural projects, namely mushroom cultivation in Bleberan Village and horticulture projects in Ponjong Village. The study involved 150 respondents (100 participants and 50 non-participants) from Bleberan and Ponjong Villages. The research method used the Household Food Insecurity Scale (HFIAS) for measuring food security, a descriptive statistical method for analyzing the factors affecting the Program continuation, and a SWOT analysis for evaluating program sustainability. The results found that most participants have more adequate food access compared to non-participants, with 89% being food secure, 7% having mild food insecurity, and 4% having moderate food insecurity access. Furthermore, key factors for the program’s continuation included income improvement, increased agricultural production, and home yard utilization. The implication of the study recommends expanding the Program nationwide, targeting low food security areas, and incorporating the Pekarangan Pangan Lestari / Sustainable Food Garden program. This expansion could enhance food security and rural development and strengthen Indonesia and South Korea’s cooperation in agriculture.
