중국 중부 6성의 외국인직접투자 유치 전략

초록

Since the implementation of China’s ‘Reform and Opening-up’ policy in 1978, the six central provinces (Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Shanxi) have faced challenges in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) compared to the eastern coastal regions. Despite their strategic location and abundant resources, issues like insufficient technological innovation and regional disparities have hindered their growth. However, recent government initiatives, such as the ‘Rise of Central China’ strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, offer new opportunities for attracting FDI. This paper conducts a SWOT analysis of the economic development of these central provinces, highlighting strengths in transportation infrastructure and human resources while acknowledging weaknesses, such as innovation gaps. Opportunities are presented through the establishment of free trade zones and supportive government policies, although threats from global economic uncertainty persist. In this context, the paper recommends strategies to enhance infrastructure, foster innovation, and create favorable policies to boost FDI. These efforts aim to close the development gap with coastal regions and contribute to China’s broader economic progress, positioning the central provinces as vital players in the national economy.
