러시아어 의무 양상어에 대한 연구: 의무와 필요의 의미적 상호작용을 중심으로

In linguistic theory, deontic modality is commonly treated as a distinct subcategory of modality. This study centers on Russian modal expressions, with particular attention to those associated with deontic meanings. The present study re-evaluates classifications of previous analyses, arguing that such taxonomies may obscure important differences in the semantic and pragmatic profiles of individual modals. This analysis also challenges the conventional treatment of надо, нужно, and необходимо as homogeneous expressions of necessity. It is proposed that надо frequently carries an implicit deontic force, often assumed rather than explicitly stated. Необходимо combines elements of necessity with a normative dimension, while нужен (-а, -о, -ы) tends to align more closely with existential or situational necessity. These observations point to the limitations of traditional classifications in accounting for the full semantic and functional range of Russian modal expressions.
