〈유씨삼대록〉에 대한 〈유이양문록〉의 대응양상과 그 의미

초록

This paper, through comparative analysis between Yussisamdaerok and Yuyiyangmunrok, tried to examine the response patterns of Yuyiyangmunrok to Yussisamdaerok and the meaning beyond simple intertextual relationships. The response patterns of Yuyiyangmunrok to Yussisamdaerok are summarized as follows. First, in terms of ‘view of life and death’, Yussisamdaerok naturally accepts premature death as a process of returning to one’s hometown, while Yuyiyangmunrok does not accept unfair death and tries to extend life somehow through reincarnation, prayer, and spiritual medicine. Second, in terms of ‘perspective on women’, Yussisamdaerok features male characters who favor the abilities and righteousness of heroines, while Yuyiyangmunrok features male characters who hate the rebelliousness and coldness of heroines. Third, in terms of ‘religious view’, both male and female characters in Yussisamdaerok reject other religions based on Confucian purism, whereas Yuyiyangmunrok shows a strong tendency toward Buddhism and Taoism in addition to Confucianism, and follows all of them. Fourth, in terms of ‘political view’, absolute beautification of royal characters is dominated in Yussisamdaerok, while absolute caricature of royal characters is dominated in Yuyiyangmunrok. These aspects make it possible to confirm that Yuyiyangmunrok was created through a kind of anti-propositional response logic to Yussisam daerok. It can be seen that this reflects not only the difference in the artist’s consciousness tendency but also the trends of change of time. Yussisam daerok, created in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, aims for a noble work that follows the reason of heaven on the basis of a Confucian worldview that is pure enough to achieve a novelization of Confucian scriptures while aiming for an example of full-length novels. Yuyiyangmunrok, written in the 19th century, not only shows a flexible attitude toward Buddhism and Taoism away from Confucian rigidity, but also shows a strong tendency to follow worldly desires based on a wider readership. Yuyiyangmunrok focuses more on the discomfort in the actual marital relationship rather than ambiguous envy for heroins like in Yussisamdaerok while honest human desires are regarded more highly. The important point is that while the response patterns between full- length novels have been centered on works that can be seen at a glance through specific clarifications such as the appearance of the same person, similar narrative structure, and narrator’s mention, Yussisamdaerok and Yuyiyangmunrok are works that are not clear on the outside but allow you to see the response patterns when closely analyzing the aspects of each work’s consciousness.
