청년 예술가들의 공동체 커머닝 실천 : 대구 ‘팔현습지를 지키는 예술행동’ 사례 연구

초록

This study examines Palhyun Wetland Art Activism in Daegu as a case of community commoning, exploring how artistic practices intersect with ecological commoning. Facing development pressure from a river environment maintenance project, young women artists have led artistic activism to protect the wetland. Drawing on Gibson-Graham’s concept of community commoning, this study argues that commons are not fixed spaces but are shaped through collaboration and negotiation. Findings reveal that Palhyun Wetland Art Activism extends commons beyond physical space, transforming it into a relational practice. Artistic initiatives such as the illustrated script Palhyun Assembly, the Eagle Owl Club, and Monthly Palhyun have played a key role in fostering civic engagement and redefining the wetland as a shared ecological and cultural space. This study suggests that art can serve as an alternative model for ecological transition and sustainable commoning, contributing to new approaches to wetland conservation through artistic and community-based practices.
