초록
This study explores a new digital workflow for pet fashion design by integrating generative intelligence with 3D virtual fitting software. As the pet economy expands alongside the rise of single-person households, the demand for small dog apparel has surged. However, traditional production methods are limited by breed-specific body variations and the inefficiencies of small-scale manufacturing. To address these challenges, the study analyzed 78 size datasets from 30 online pet product retailers, confirming that small dogs dominate the apparel market. Based on these findings, the Maltese breed, the most popular in Seoul, was chosen as the target model. Using Midjourney’s generative AI, textile images were created based on five WSGN 2025 pet trends, and a Maltese avatar was generated through Meshy AI and imported into CLO 3D for garment simulation. The sleeveless T-shirt design was constructed using average measurements, and AI-generated fabrics were applied to visualize and evaluate the design outcomes. Results indicated that each trend-based textile effectively embodied distinct visual and emotional keywords. For instance, “Glimmer of Joy” featured playful, high-saturation motifs, while “New Natural” conveyed eco-friendly aesthetics with marble-like textures. The CLO simulations demonstrated that these fabrics maintained high visual quality when applied to the Maltese avatar. This study highlights the potential of combining generative AI and 3D simulation as an effective workflow for pet fashion design, offering practical insights into sustainable small-scale production and opening new creative possibilities for the growing pet fashion industry.
