IB DP ‘언어와 문학 연구’의 하위 과목 특성 연구

초록

This study investigates the three subject options within the IB Diploma Programme’s Studies in Language & Literature—Language and Literature, Literature, and Literature & Performance—and compares them with the Korean high school language curriculum. While the three subjects share areas of exploration such as reader, writer and text, time and space, and intertextuality, they differ in scope, learning processes, and approaches. Literature & Performance particularly emphasizes theatrical transformation and audience context, integrating literary analysis with performance practice and reflecting European traditions of drama education. Across all subjects, the seven IB key concepts—identity, culture, creativity, communication, perspective, transformation, and representation—function as cognitive lenses that guide interpretation and assessment rather than as content areas. The findings highlight IB’s integrative and concept-driven approach, in contrast to the segmented Korean curriculum.
