The Information and Communication Technology-Based Trampoline Exercise Program Improves Balance, Agility, and Fall Prevention in Healthy Adults

초록

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of trampoline exercise guided by an information and communication technology (ICT)-based system on strength, balance, agility, and fall prevention in healthy adults. Methods: Fifteen healthy adults (mean age 34.2 years; 10 men, 5 women) participated in this study. Participants received a trampoline exercise program of 30 minutes per session, 3 times per week for 4 weeks. The program included 10 basic trampoline exercises, such as tiptoe walking, jogging, heel walking and jacking. Baseline and post-exercise measurements included eight clinical assessment items: Arm curl test (ACT), 30-second chair stand test (CST), timed up and go test (TUG), 6-minute walking test (MWT), agility t-test (ATT), ten meter running, thigh circumference, and calf circumference. Results: ACT, CST, and MWT showed statistically significant improvement (p < 0.001) after the ICT-based trampoline exercise program. Conclusions: The ICT-based trampoline exercise program significantly improved overall strength, balance, and agility of the lower and upper body with little risk of falls. Keywords: Trampoline exercise, ICT-based intervention, Strength, balance, Fall prevention
