The profound impact of earthquakes on human lives and the built environment emphasizes the substantial human and economic losses resulting from structural collapses. Many researchers in this field highlight the long-standing societal challenge posed by earthquakes and underscores the imperative to minimize such losses. Over decades, researchers have dedicated efforts to seismic design, focusing on improving structural performance to mitigate earthquake-induced damages. This has led to the development of various structural analysis methods. In this research, a specific RC frame structure at Kyungpook National University, designed for educational purposes, serves as a representative case. The study employs SAP 2000 for simulation, aiming to assess the struc-tural performance under seismic conditions. The focus is on evaluating how different column section designs while maintaining identical column section areas, impact structural behavior. The research utilizes two analytical methods—RSA (Response Spectrum Analysis) and LTHA (Linear Time History Analysis)—to comprehensively examine aspects such as displacement, base shear force, base moment, joint radians, and layer displacement angle. The comprehensive analysis, covering diverse parameters such as displacement, base shear force, base moment, joint radians, and layer displacement angle, reflects the research's thorough inves-tigation. This multifaceted approach allows for a nuanced understanding of how different column section designs, despite having identical section areas, influence the structure's response to seismic forces.
