초록

This study focuses on the ongoing development and challenges in the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture compilation project. Based on the 2021 and 2023-2024 refinement and editing projects, it highlights the dominance of fields like history, literature, and arts in the encyclopedia. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing gaps in the encyclopedia's content, particularly in underrepresented fields, while restructuring its microstructure to enhance user experience. Moreover, the ten-year plan (2018-2027) aims to expand and refine the online encyclopedia through continuous improvements, reflecting the diversity of Korean culture. Central issues include optimizing keyword input, refining entry links, and determining the appropriate level of footnote detail, all of which depend on the primary user base of the encyclopedia. The study also underscores the significance of aligning expert input with public demand to build a more comprehensive and accessible resource.
