영화감독 박남옥의 이력에 관한 실증적 연구 - 대구 지역과의 연관성을 중심으로 -

초록

This study was an empirical review of the life and activities of Park Nam-ok, the first female film director in Korea. In particular, by focusing on the connection with the Daegu region, which was closely related to Park Nam-ok’s life, we aimed to expand the horizon of Park Nam-ok’s research as regional studies and explore the possibility of utilizing film director Park Nam-ok as regional cultural content. For this work, we first examined the relationship between Park Nam-ok and Daegu by focusing on the activities in Daegu, which were the artistic nourishment of film director Park Nam-ok. The previously known life of Park Nam-ok was written based on Park Nam-ok’s autobiography, but the review confirmed that a significant portion of the known records were distorted. First, we found and corrected errors in the year of admission, school name, and period of activity in Park Nam-ok’s school days. Meanwhile, we were able to confirm the relationship between Park Nam-ok and the Daegu regional art scene by adding the fact that Park Nam-ok participated as a member of the 'Kyeongpook Art Troops' established in Daegu after liberation. In addition, the facts related to the ‘Ministry of National Defense Filming Unit’ organized during the Korean War were partially revised. Finally, we reconfirmed the date and location of the first release of the film "The Widow"(1955), and as a result, we found that the film was first released not in Seoul but at the National Theater in Daegu. Finally, these results were summarized and 'Park Nam-ok's Daegu Experience Map' was submitted. In understanding an artist, the regional foundation that nurtured him or her is very important. In that sense, this study, which examines Park Nam-ok and Daegu, will be significant in that it is a full-fledged empirical study on Park Nam-ok. Through empirical examination, We hope that the horizon of Park Nam-ok's research will be expanded by correcting existing errors through empirical review and exploring the potential of Park Nam-ok's research as a regional study and as a potential use of regional cultural content.
