한국 전통 악기의 글로벌 수용에서 감정의 역할: 청취자 선호를 통한 통찰

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the emotional responses evoked by Korean traditional musical instruments among foreign listeners and to explore the role of emotions in the globalization process of Gugak (Korean traditional music). A survey was conducted with participants of various nationalities, where they listened to audio samples of both Korean traditional and Western musical instruments and evaluated their emotional responses using a 5-point Likert scale. The results showed that foreign listeners experienced strong happiness and surprise emotions when listening to Korean traditional instruments. Notably, Haegeum and Violin, as well as Daegeum and Flute, exhibited similar emotional responses between Korean traditional and Western instruments. Additionally, happiness and sadness were found to be the most influential emotions in determining listening preferences, highlighting the role of complex emotions in Gugak appreciation. This study suggests that Gugak can foster emotional connections with foreign audiences and provides foundational data for developing strategies to promote the globalization and cultural dissemination of Korean traditional music.
