낙상 위험 사정도구의 유용성 비교 연구

초록

Purpose: This study aimed to check whether the items of MFS (Morse Fall Scale) and FAS-K (Fall Assessment Scale Korean version) reflect the risk of falls in adult patients admitted to a general hospital and to compare the clinical usefulness of the two tools. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study to compare the usefulness of MFS and FAS-K and was conducted from May 2020 to May 2021 in a general hospital located in D City. A total of 206 patients were finally analyzed. Univariate and multivariate logistic model were conducted. We compared the sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and the area under the curve (AUC) of the two fall risk assessment tools. Results: In the univariate analysis, 5 items of MFS and 9 items of FAS-K showed significant fall odds ratio. Also, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and area under the curve of MFS and FAS-K were similar, and both tools were confirmed to have good discriminant power. Conclusion: The FAS-K consisting of multidimensional aspects of fall risk can be suggested as the appropriate tool for assessing fall risk in adult patients at general hospitals.
