변이할당분석을 활용한 국내 항만연관산업의 경영성과 특성 분석

초록

This study empirically analyzed factors influencing managerial performance among Korean port enterprises using the Shift-Share Model. Based on measurements of sales revenue, operating profit, and the number of employees, this study found that managerial performances of regional port firms were different according to effects of national growth, industrial structure, and regional allocation. Analysis results showed that port firms in regions such as Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungcheongnam demonstrated superior managerial performance due to both favorable effects of industrial structure and regional allocation. However, port firms in regions such as Gyeonggi-do and Busan showed inferior managerial performance because of negative regional allocation effect. These findings indicate that managerial performances of port firms are affected by effects of national growth, industrial structure, and regional allocation. This study advocates the need of customized regional policies and provides basic analysis data to enhance managerial performance of Korean port firms. Moreover, it suggests that future research by performing qualitative factor analysis and an international comparative study for each port firm is needed to improve managerial performance.
