수자원 확보를 위한 인공강우 증대기법의 비교 평가
초록
This paper provides a comprehensive overview of cloud seeding technology, emphasizing its principles, experimental methods, and the evaluation of experimental results, particularly in the context of water resource management and climate change adaptation. Cloud seeding, a weather modification technology, artificially introduces condensation or ice nuclei into clouds to trigger precipitation or enhance rainfall efficiency, making it a viable strategy for regions with water scarcity or seasonal droughts. This study analyzes cloud seeding experiments conducted in Korea and internationally, discussing the differences and effectiveness of ground-based and airborne experiments. Furthermore, it discusses the various experimental approaches, highlighting the factors influencing the success of these experiments, such as seeding material and atmospheric conditions. Additionally, the review summarizes the methods used to assess the effectiveness of cloud seeding, such as monitoring changes in cloud properties and measuring precipitation increases using advanced observational instruments like cloud radar and precipitation sensors. This study underscores the importance of cloud seeding technology as a tool for sustainable water resource management and mitigation of climate impacts. It also offers insights into optimizing cloud seeding practices and outlines future research directions to enhance the technology’s efficiency, including integrating it with numerical models and developing more precise evaluation techniques.
