This study classified the psychosocial school climate characteristics of middle schools, examined the predictive roles of teacher efficacy and job stress in latent profile membership, and compared students’ school adjustment and depression across the profiles. Using data from the 15th wave of the Panel Study of Korean Children, reports from 506 second-grade middle school students and their homeroom teachers were analyzed with latent profile analysis (LPA) and multiple logistic regression (MLR). The analysis identified three profiles: the Negative climate–High-risk group, the Relationship-Compensatory middle group, and the Positive climate–Low-risk group. While school adjustment did not differ significantly across groups, depression was highest in the negative climate–high-risk group. Teacher efficacy increased, whereas job stress decreased, the likelihood of belonging to the positive climate–low-risk group. These findings highlight the importance of fostering teacher efficacy and reducing job stress to promote healthier school climates and protect students’emotional well-being.
