Metaheuristic Algorithm-Based Antenna Selection Collaborative Beamforming for Remote Sensors

In this letter, we propose a metaheuristic-based antenna selection (AS) technique for collaborative beamforming (CB). While AS can retain more power at the intended base station (BS) than CB with all sensors participating, it suffers from interference caused by proximal sidelobes. To optimally leverage the benefits of AS while mitigating its drawbacks, we employ non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) for AS. Additionally, we conduct a series of random simulations to evaluate and validate the performance of these approaches.
