주관성 연구에서 대규모 응답자의 신뢰성: Q방법론의 P표본 크기에 대한 실증 분석

Despite its long history in the field of subjectivity studies, Q methodology continues to encounter several theoretical controversies. One is an argument about the possibility and feasibility of utilizing large P samples. In that context, this study reviews the theory and attempts to empirically analyze the reliability of large P samples. Specifically, two previous studies that employed large P samples of more than 100 persons were utilized. The normality of the raw data was assessed, and error scores between original-large and sub-small P samples were estimated. As a result of the analysis, the original-large P samples deviated considerably from normal distributions. In addition, not only the size of the P sample but also the method of sampling affects the reliability gaps observed. In conclusion, while large P samples inevitably have the limitations of low normality and reliability, researchers need to consider not only weaknesses but also strengths, such as the potential for statistical analysis.
