인간 너머의 지리 연구 및 교수 방법으로서 포토보이스의 재개념화

초록

There is a growing scholarly interest in “more-than-human geographies,” which emphasizes entanglements with entities that extend beyond the human in our contemporary world. While theoretical discussions on more-than-human geographies have steadily advanced, concrete methodological and pedagogical frameworks for conducting research and instruction in this area remain insufficient. In response, this study proposes a new approach to exploring and teaching more-than-human geographies by reconfiguring photovoice—an innovative, community-based visual research methodology that grants agency to participants—through the theoretical lenses of new materialism and posthumanism. Specifically, photovoice for more-than-human geographies centers on non-representational and affective practices, such as “seeing together, speaking together, and being together,” and employs a photo-response process to strengthen the co-production of knowledge. Ultimately, this study concludes that a reconceptualized photovoice methodology offers valuable new insights for both researching and teaching within a more-than-human world.
