｢박물관 및 미술관 진흥법｣ 박물관 구분 체계 고찰

초록

In the ｢Museum and Art Museum Promotion Act｣, which is the most basic of the establishment and operation of museums in S.Korea, museums are divided into national, public, private, and university based on ‘establishment and operation’. However, apart from the legal classification, there are many cases in which the subject of operation of the museum is changed or the subject of establishment and operation is different. This article first examined the history of the establishment of classification standards in the ｢Museum and Art Museum Promotion Act｣, and identified private museums with different establishments and operational entities or special forms through various operational cases of museums. Based on this, the establishment of a classification system for ‘semi-public museum’ was proposed by reflecting the proportion of major financial resources and the public nature of the museum's construction. This new classification system, the ‘semi- public museum,’ will give museums public interest, contributing to the efficient operation of museums and the expansion of the public’s broader cultural enjoyment rights in museum spaces.
