책거리의 조형 원리를 통해 본 현대 디자인의 재맥락화 전략 연구

This study proposes a systematic methodology for applying the formative principles of Chaekgeori, a form of traditional Korean visual culture, to contemporary design to establish a unique Korean design identity in the era of K-Culture. We established an integrated analytical model by reinterpreting its formative principles of modular structure, symbolic motifs, and multiple perspectives through the lens of postmodern theories of recontextualization, hybridity, and interactivity. This model was then applied to an in-depth analysis of contemporary design cases across various domains. The results reveal that the contemporary transformation process can be categorized into three core strategies: ‘Structural Recontextualization’, ‘Symbolic Hybridity’, and ‘Experiential Interactivity’. Each strategy demonstrates how traditional principles merge with modern contexts to create new values. This study contributes by providing a theoretical and practical framework for developing culturally sustainable content that moves beyond superficial appropriation. Future research is required, such as comparative studies applying this model to other traditional cultures or quantitative studies verifying the effectiveness of each strategy.
