‘소식좌’ 콘텐츠 유행 상황에서 소셜 미디어 이용 정도, 연예인 동조현상, 내현적 자기애가 청소년의 섭식장애에 미치는 영향

초록

Purpose: This study aims to examine the prevalence of social media usage, conformity phenomena with celebrities, and convert narcissism among adolescents, and the factors affecting adolescents’ eating attitudes regarding current proliferation of videos featuring ‘tiny eaters’(sosik-jwa). Methods: The study involved 117 teenagers aged 12-18 attending middle and high schools in Daegu, Korea. The survey was conducted from July 15 to August 22, 2023, using an online Google Form. The dataset was processed with SPSS 25, employing independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analyses, and multiple linear regression models. Results: The correlation analysis confirmed a positive relationship between teenagers’ use of social networking services (SNS) and factors such as celebrity conformity, levels of narcissism, and the prevalence of eating disorders. Regression analysis demonstrated a clear correlation between elevated levels of narcissistic personality traits and an increased prevalence of eating disorders among teenagers. However, the degree of SNS usage and celebrity conformity did not significantly impact the occurrence of eating disorders. Conclusion: The research suggests that teenagers exhibiting characteristics such as goal instability, a desire for recognition, self-centeredness, hypersensitivity, and lack of confidence are more vulnerable to developing anorexia, food obsession, and issues related to eating control. Given the widespread use of social media among teenagers, there is a pressing need to develop educational programs that encourage healthy body image. This education should focus on fostering a positive self-image and building resilience against the influence of social networking platforms and celebrity trends.
