초록

Thisstudy focused on community sports, a topic that has been overlooked in discussions aboutsports and human rights. The study aimed to explore viewpoints on sports human rights among prospective community sports instructors. An open-ended survey and data analysis were conducted targeting 196 prospective instructors who had registered at training institutions to obtain a Level 2 recreational sports instructor certification, but had not taken the sports human rights education provided by the institutions. The results revealed that the sports human rights recognized by the prospective instructors were universal human rights(50.0%), violence (22.8%), and sports human rights (15.7%). Second, the response measures to sexual violence in community sports were separation and protection measures, reporting,securing evidence, cooperating with investigations, and institutional measures. Third, the human rights violations experienced by the instructors were sports violence (37.5%), violence within community sports(21 .9%), and human rights violationsreported in the news(7.3%). Fourth, the instructorsidentified the causes of human rights violationsin community sports as a lack of awareness and education (29.0%), a hierarchical culture (25.5%), a power imbalance and authoritarianism (11.2%), and a victory-oriented mentality (10.6%). Finally, their sports human rights–related educational experience was either present (24.0%) or absent (73.5%). This study highlightsthe need forsocial discourse on sports human rightsto expand from elite sports to community sports and suggeststhe necessity of institutional and educational foundations.
