성별과 유학 기간에 따른 중국 유학생의 신체활동 패턴 분석

Analysis of Chinese international students' physical activity patterns by gender and study duration abroad

초록

This study examined physical activity patterns among Chinese international students in South Korea using triaxial accelerometer data (N=75; 39 males, 36 females). Participants wore devices for one week, with SPSS 27.0 analyzing descriptive statistics, two-way ANOVA, and Tukey’s post-test. Results revealed daily averages of 1,167.9 sedentary minutes, 232.2 light-intensity minutes, and 39.9 MVPA minutes. Two-way ANOVA and post-test revealed significant main effects based on gender and duration of study abroad (sedentary: females < males, less than 1 year < 1~2 years < more than 2 years; light-intensity and MVPA: females < males, less than 1 year < 1~ years < more than 2 years, p < .001). An interaction effect between gender and duration of study abroad was found for MVPA (p < .001). In conclusion, male students had lower physical activity levels than females, and the decline in MVPA was more pronounced among male students as duration of study abroad increased. Educational authorities' attention to this issue is needed.
