초․중등 신규교사의 핵심역량이 수업과 평가에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted with undergraduate students at University C, located in a provincial area, in order to compare and analyze the characteristics of self-expressive nouns according to the level of self-esteem among college students. Both a questionnaire survey and self-expression interviews were employed. As a result, the survey to measure the self-esteem levels of University C students was analyzed by academic major, year of study, and gender, and the linguistic data of self-expression were extracted in noun form to compare their semantic characteristics. According to the results, in the self-esteem questionnaire, Item [3] “I do not think I am a failure” and Item [7] “I have a positive attitude toward myself” received the highest average score of 4.1, while Item [6] “I have many things to be proud of” scored the lowest at 3.61. By major, students in the Department of Aviation Operations scored the highest (4.73), and those in the Department of Nursing scored the lowest (3.56). By year, third-year students scored the highest (4.39), while first-year students scored the lowest (3.86). In terms of gender, male students (4.39) scored higher than female students (3.61). Students in the high (upper) self-esteem group used nouns reflecting positive and proactive personality traits and active engagement in social relationships. In contrast, those in the low (lower) self-esteem group employed nouns indicative of introverted and unstable personality traits, as well as defensive and humorous forms of self-expression. These differences suggest that the level of self-esteem among college students influences their lexical choices and semantic structures in self-expression. This study recommends the development of self-esteem enhancement programs, self-expression coaching, and customized counseling and career or employment education support by gender and academic major. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for future in-depth qualitative studies with expanded samples across various majors and regions. The significance of this study lies in providing foundational data for learning, counseling, career education, and employment or entrepreneurship guidance through detailed analysis of self-expressive linguistic characteristics according to college students’ levels of self-esteem.
