In the current context of increasingly frequent cultural exchanges, scholars have become keenly interested in the intertextuality between literary works and films. This article takes Fang Fang's novel “Thousand Arrows Pierce the Heart” and the film of the same name that it was adapted into as an example. Through an intertextual analysis of the film narrative and the novel text, this article explores the reasons for the successful adaptation of the film, and deeply explores the commonality between the novel and the film. In addition, the film also deepens the audience's understanding and experience of the local culture by restoring and presenting the life and culture of Wuhan's lower class society.
