간호대학생의 성소수자에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인

초록

Purpose: This descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to identify factors influencing attitudes toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) individuals among nursing students. Methods: An online survey was conducted on 178 nursing students. It consisted of items measuring attitudes toward LGBTI individuals, unconditional self-acceptance, metacognition, and cognitive flexibility. Results: The results indicated the following significant factors, in this order: acquaintance with LGBTI individuals (β=.29, p<.001), religion (β=.25, p<.001), age (β=.20, p=.005), and unconditional self-acceptance (β=-.18, p=.008). Lower levels of unconditional self-acceptance, older age, religious affiliation, and a lack of acquaintance with LGBTI individuals were associated with more negative attitudes toward the latter among nursing students. Conclusion: These results suggest the need for educational programs that enable nursing students to cultivate a proper understanding of and inclusive attitudes toward LGBTI individuals, ultimately equipping them to provide equitable nursing care.
