영유아교사의 돌봄전문성 측정도구 개발 및 타당화 연구

초록

This study aimed to explore the factors that constitute the caring professionalism of early childhood teachers and to develop and validate a self-report scale to assess it. The survey involved 498 early childhood teachers working in childcare centers and kindergartens located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk regions in South Korea. The results of the study are as follows: First, the caring professionalism of early childhood teachers consisted of four factors comprising 26 items: Caring Practice, Development of Professionalism, Understanding of Young Children, and Family Involvement. Second, the response distribution, item quality, and discriminative power were verified. The total explained variance was 85.17%, with each factor contributing as follows: Caring Practice (28.99%), Development of Professionalism (20.63%), Understanding of Young Children (19.09%), and Family Involvement (16.47%). Third, the overall Cronbach’s α coefficient was .96, indicating high reliability. Each factor also showed high internal consistency: .97 for Caring Practice, .98 for Development of Professionalism, .98 for Understanding of Young Children, and .96 for Family Involvement. This study provides a systematic understanding of the caring professionalism of early childhood teachers and can serve as a foundation for policies aimed at strengthening teacher competences.
