≪朱子語類≫ 제139권 <論文>(上)(1-20條目) 譯註 및 解說

초록

This study presents a translation and annotation of Sections 1 through 20 in Volume 139 of the Collected Conversations of Master Zhu (Zhuzi Yulei), accompanied by explanatory commentary on the principal themes addressed in each section. Although the passages under consideration are drawn from the chapter entitled “On Poetry and Prose,” they provide a sufficiently representative perspective on the broader character of the Zhuzi Yulei as a whole. The contents of Volume 139 are at times thematically interconnected, at other times discrete, and in certain instances overlapping or even mutually inconsistent. Owing to its format as a record of conversations (yulu), structurally akin to the Analects, the Zhuzi Yulei exhibits many of the same organizational features. Yet, while the Analects has been the subject of extensive annotation and translation for over two millennia, the Zhuzi Yulei has, for various reasons, not yet received sustained or comprehensive scholarly treatment. Moreover, academic inquiry has hitherto been directed primarily toward Zhu Xi’s classical learning and Neo-Confucian philosophy, with comparatively little attention paid to his reflections on literature. It is therefore incumbent upon the present study—and upon future scholarship—to advance research in this relatively neglected domain. The translation and commentary offered here are intended to serve as useful resources not only for specialists in Chinese literature but also for scholars working across related fields.
