In this study, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) based on pyrrole and its derivative were electrochemically synthesized on screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) for the detection of cyclophosphamide (CPA), an immunosuppressive agent commonly utilized in chemotherapy. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the MIP films in enabling rapid and sensitive detection of CPA, achieved via a simple fabrication process that requires no biological recognition elements or additional surface modifications. The electrochemical properties of the MIP film on the SPCE were characterized using square wave voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry. The CPA-imprinted polymer film demonstrated high sensitivity, with a limit of detection of 0.911 nM and a limit of quantification of 3.038 nM within a linear detection range of 0.1-50 nM. Additionally, the MIP film exhibited remarkable selectivity for CPA over other chemotherapeutic agents, such as ifosfamide, 5fluorouracil, and methotrexate. These results suggest that the MIP-based sensing platforms developed in this study have significant potential for detecting various pharmaceutical compounds in clinical diagnostics.
