사회방언 조사 질문지 개발에 대하여 - 국립국어원의 언어 다양성 조사 사업

초록

This paper summarizes the process and main contents of the Korean Language Diversity Survey project conducted by the National Institute of Korean Language (NIKL) so far. In particular, we introduce the principles and methods of constructing social dialect questionnaires for the gender language diversity survey project by generation on the Korean Peninsula promoted in 2021 and 2022. In addition, the results calculated after a pilot study using this are analyzed to analyze the complementary points of the questionnaire for social dialect survey. This study aims to introduce the social dialect survey questionnaire developed in the process of promoting the pilot project in 2021, and to reveal the process of revising and supplementing the questionnaire in the 2022 main survey. In particular, since it was a principle to develop items that could investigate the characteristics of language by generation and gender as social dialect variables, the generational variables developed items that could confirm language use according to age difference based on field time. As for the gender variable, an item that can compare the language use of men and women of the same generation in real time has been developed. In addition, the language area was allowed to deal with areas corresponding to vocabulary, grammar, and phonology, and oral speech questions were developed to investigate the cultural background. This questionnaire is designed to investigate languages that are on the verge of extinction due to rapid social change, not only oral speech at the level of sentences and discourse, but also various types of vocabulary and expressions by generation and region. I would like to help develop questionnaires for researchers planning to conduct social dialect surveys in the future.
