초록

This study focuses on the shielding properties of Eu3+-doped bismuth borate glass in the 70–120 kVp energy range using experimental X-ray techniques and simulations. Glasses are prepared via melt quenching and are characterized by physical, scintillation, and radiation shielding behavior. Density of the glass samples increases with higher Eu3+ contents. The 1.5 mol% Eu3+-doped sample exhibits the highest emission peak under X-ray excitation. The mass and linear attenuation coefficients decrease with increased Eu2O3 content. The 2 mol% Eu sample exhibits the lowest half-value layer, better than commercial window glass, bricks, X-ray windows, and concrete. Lead equivalent thickness rises with incident photon energy, while mean free path increases with both Eu3+ content and energy. Experimental and simulated results align well, indicating these glasses are suitable for scintillation and X-ray shielding applications.
