This paper examines the changes in the Arctic due to the acceleration of global warming, focusing on the Arctic shipping route. In the 21st century, global climate change, or climate crisis due to climate warming, is rapidly progressing to the point of threatening the future of humanity. Carbon emissions emitted by human society are pointed out as the main cause. As is well known, since the Industrial Revolution, as human society has become more active due to scientific development, the most fundamental problem of the climate crisis can be pointed out as economic growth due to scientific development. From an ecological perspective, the carbon economy is the main factor in the climate crisis due to economic growth. The impact of the carbon economy is promoting great changes in the polar regions located at the southern and northern ends of the Earth, and in particular, climate change in the Arctic, where vast underground resources such as oil and gas are buried, is opening up new opportunities and possibilities. On the other hand, it is pointed out that challenging tasks on a global scale are also being triggered at the same time. This can be attributed to the opening of new opportunities for Arctic shipping routes (Arctic shipping routes) and resources due to the acceleration of global warming, and further intensifying and expanding to politics, military, and security, fierce underground competition and speculation are being triggered among the interested parties in the Arctic to secure new opportunities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the Northern Sea Route, an area of ​​international interest centered on the Arctic space, which is recognized as the final report of the future under the trend of accelerating global warming, and to comprehensively analyze the potential value of whether resource development, which can be said to be the reason for promoting the development of the Northern Sea Route, can open the possibility of securing a new global logistics transport route in the 21st century, and to examine its significance.
