수용소와 수도원 사이 - 프릴레핀의 수도원 에 나타난 도스토옙스키적 전통의 현대적 재배열 -

초록

Zakhar Prilepin’s The Monastery seems to exhibit the form of prison camp literature but reconfigures Dostoevskian ethics and the Russian Orthodox tradition in a contemporary context. This article examines how the novel transcends the limits of political indictment or historical reproduction by engaging with metaphysical themes such as suffering, repentance, and salvation to explore questions of humanity and national identity. Prilepin adopts and transforms Dostoevsky’s narrative structures, character types, and the theological language of Orthodoxy to reproduce the prison camp as a space for spiritual experiment. In doing so, he suggests that literature and faith can foster the recovery of ethical consciousness under oppressive conditions. Rather than treating The Monastery as just another piece of camp writing, this study situates the work within a post-Dostoevskian context and aims to illuminate its broader literary, historical, and theological significance.
