초등 사회과 지역화 교과서의 내용 분석 - 대구 지역화 교과서를 중심으로 -

초록

This study empirically analyzed the structure and content of a localized elementary social studies textbook to examine its educational implications. The analysis revealed that A Truly Wonderful Daegu reflects an intention to incorporate regional characteristics, but each unit exhibited distinct features. First, the unit Daegu through Maps maintained a structure similar to that of the national curriculum textbook, limiting its distinctiveness as a localized textbook. Second, the unit National Heritage of Our Region aimed to emphasize historical identity and community values but showed limitations in its visual composition. Third, the unit Citizen Participation and Solving Daegu’s Problems lacked the presentation of specific local issues and, due to the repetitive structure of activities, was insufficient in fostering learners’ voluntary participation. Continuous efforts are needed to explore directions for qualitative improvement of localized textbooks through comparative analyses of materials from different regions and empirical reviews reflecting students’ classroom responses and learning outcomes.
