간호대학생 1학년의 성취동기, 학업적 자기효능감, 전공 만족도가 학과 적응에 미치는 영향

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the influence of achievement motivation, academic self-efficacy, and major satisfaction on department adjustment of first-year nursing students. Methods: The participants in this study were 180 first-year nursing students in South Korea. Data were collected using on-line survey from September 7, 2022, to September 15, 2022. The questionnaire included general characteristics, achievement motivation, academic self-efficacy, major satisfaction, and department adjustment. The results were analyzed with SPSS/Win 25.0 program using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The department adaptation had a significant positive correlation with achievement motivation, academic self-efficacy, and major satisfaction. Factors that affect first-year nursing students’ department adjustment were achievement motivation (β=.43, p<.001), and major satisfaction (β=.31, p<.001). Achievement motivation had the greatest influence on first-year nursing students’ department adjustment. The explanatory power was 67.0% (F=30.98, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to implement an intervention program that includes improvement of achievement motivation and major satisfaction for department adjustment of first-year nursing students.
