자코비안 극 『체인질링』(Changeling)의 각색 ITV 드라마인 <강요>(Compulsion)의 디지털 미디어 전유

초록

This paper aims to explore digital media appropriation of ITV drama Compulsion, an adaptation of a Jacobean play The Changeling written by Middleton and Rowley. For this purpose, first of all, play and screen adaptations of Middleton and Rowley’s The Changeling are examined. And then, this paper explores from various points of view including multiculturalism and the relations of Anjika and Don Flowers represented in Sarah Harding’s Compulsion. That is because Harding adapts Jacobean The Changeling in terms of contemporary contexts and discourses. Finally, this paper concludes by insisting that Compulsion is being appropriated in a timely manner on DVDs, streaming, YouTube, and internet reviews. Furthermore, this paper expects the contemporary Jacobean adaptation to continue to expand on digital platforms.
