Exploring a Phenomenological Model of Neuroscience of Narrative and Its Implications for Curriculum Development

초록

This study aims to explore innovative directions for curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation based on a phenomenological model of neuroscience of narrative. To this end, it employs a combined approach of literature review and theoretical integration, analyzing key works related to neuroscience of narrative and phenomenology, and synthesizing them to develop an applicable curriculum model. The proposed model, centered on the three concepts of intentionality, temporality, and holism, elucidates mechanisms through which interactions between the brain’s DMN and social brain network enhance learners’ meaning-making, emotional empathy, and social cognition. The integration of phenomenology and neuroscience strengthens the philosophical and scientific validity of narrative-based curricula, enabling learner-centered design and multidimensional assessment. Future research should apply the proposed model in actual educational settings and conduct empirical studies to verify its effectiveness. Ultimately, it is anticipated that the fusion of neuroscience and philosophy will advance educational research and curriculum development.
