집단 괴롭힘 피해 경험이 다문화 청소년 비행에 미치는 영향 : 우울을 통한 가족지지의 조절된 매개효과를 중심으로

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of bullying victimization on delinquency among multicultural adolescents through the perspective of General Strain Theory. Specifically, the study explored the mediating role of depression and the moderated mediating effect of family support. Data were drawn from the 8th (2018) and 9th (2019) waves of the "Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study" conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute, comprising a sample of 1,094 multicultural adolescents in South Korea. The 8th wave provided data on bullying victimization (independent variable), depression (mediating variable), and family support (moderating variable), while the 9th wave included measures of delinquency (dependent variable) and control variables, including gender, residential area, household economic status, and parental education levels. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 27.0 and PROCESS Macro 4.2 to test both the mediation and moderated mediation models. The results of this study are as follows. First, bullying victimization had a significant positive effect on delinquency among multicultural adolescents. Second, depression partially mediated the relationship between bullying victimization and delinquency, and this mediating effect was statistically significant. Third, the moderating effect of family support in the relationship between depression and delinquency was confirmed. Fourth, the moderated mediating effect of family support was verified in the pathway where bullying victimization influenced delinquency through depression. Conditional effect analyses indicated that the indirect effect of depression was significant when family support was low but became insignificant when family support was moderate or high. These findings suggest that the mediating role of depression in the relationship between bullying victimization and delinquency is - 199 amplified under conditions of low family support. This study systematically analyzed the relationship between bullying victimization and delinquency among multicultural adolescents through the lens of General Strain Theory. It examined the mediating role of depression and the buffering effect of family support to establish a theoretical foundation for delinquency prevention. The findings underscore the critical importance of early intervention to address bullying victimization and highlight the necessity of psychological and emotional support to alleviate depression, a prominent negative emotion contributing to delinquent behavior. Additionally, family support was identified as a protective factor, underscoring the necessity of establishing systems to strengthen family support. Based on these findings, the study offers policy and practical recommendations for delinquency prevention and proposes directions for future research while acknowledging its limitations.
